Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula has said controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna will come back to the country and enjoy his rights as a citizen.

Wetang’ula’s comment came a day after Deputy President William Ruto was declared the President-elect by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati.

“Dr Miguna Miguna will soon have back his right to the full enjoyment of his birthright including unrestricted entry/exit to his motherland. The right to dual citizenship shall not be applied selectively,” he said.

On March, Ruto had promised to bring Miguna back to Kenya if he clinches the presidency.

Miguna has been in Canada since 2018 when he was deported following his role in the unofficial swearing-in of ODM Party leader Raila Odinga as the ‘people’s president.

“This is because he’s Kenyan and even if he has committed a crime, our country has laws in place that he will face.”
