Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has defended Kibra MP Mwalimu Peter Orero following a viral video showing the legislator’s vehicle driving on the wrong lane footage that was captured and shared by CNN journalist Larry Madowo.
In the clip, Madowo is heard expressing frustration at what he described as blatant impunity on the roads, a sentiment that quickly sparked widespread debate among Kenyans online.
However, Alai accused Madowo and sections of the public of being too quick to condemn leaders without understanding the circumstances they face.

“From your hate of politicians, you attack Mwalimu Orero without even trying to understand what he was going through. Representation and oversight aren’t easy,” Alai said in a post.
He further suggested that some critics seek “attention without facts,” noting that as an elected leader himself, he understands the intense pressures that accompany public service.
