Cooperative Bank has inaugurated its Annual National Cooperative Leaders Workshop at Pride Inn Resort, Mombasa.
The three-day workshop brings together leaders from various cooperative societies across Kenya, aiming to foster collaboration and explore growth opportunities in the sector through technology and innovation.
During the event, Cooperative Bank highlighted its ongoing commitment to strengthening engagement and promoting strategic partnerships within the cooperative movement.
“We’re excited to kick off the Annual National Cooperative Leaders Workshop at Pride Inn Resort in Mombasa this morning. The 3-day event is part of our strategy in ensuring continuous engagement and collaboration with and between Cooperative Societies, and exploring growth opportunities through technology & innovation,’ Bank said in a statement.
In his keynote address, Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, Mr. Patrick K. Kilemi, emphasized the importance of ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability.
“Leaders must uphold integrity to foster trust and build stronger connections with members, securing future growth and prosperity,” he remarked.
Key figures in attendance included Mr. Peter Owira, Director of Compliance, Market Conduct, and Regional Coordination at SASRA; Mr. Vincent Marangu, Cooperative Bank’s Director of Cooperatives Banking; and Mr. Daniel Marube MBS, CEO of the Cooperative Alliance of Kenya.
The gathering underscores Cooperative Bank’s focus on advancing Kenya’s cooperative movement and supporting the sector’s dynamic needs through financial and technological innovation.
