International Workplace Group (IWG) is set to open a new state-of-the-art flexible workspace in Thika, strengthening its footprint in Kenya as demand for hybrid and decentralized work models continues to grow.
The new facility, located at Zuhura Place in Thika, forms part of IWG’s strategy to expand its network in fast-growing commercial hubs and meet the rising need for premium flexible offices among both established firms and start-ups.
The move comes as IWG continues its aggressive global expansion after posting its highest-ever revenue, cash flow and earnings growth. The company said it signed and opened more locations in the first half of 2025 than it did in its entire first decade of operations. Its global network now spans more than one million rooms across 121 countries.
IWG’s Thika entry follows the recent opening of HQ centres at The Brick Mall in Thindigua along Kiambu Road, where the company says demand has been strong from both established firms and emerging businesses.
The Brick Mall, a three-storey shopping complex launched in Q3 2025, offers premium private offices, co-working areas, meeting rooms and creative zones. The facility also benefits from on-site parking and proximity to Nairobi’s Central Business District, making it an attractive base for firms seeking flexible office solutions in Kiambu.

Businesses taking up space at The Brick Mall will also gain priority access to reserve workspace at Zuhura Place, Thika, allowing organisations to establish a strategic presence across two rapidly growing commercial nodes.
The Thika workspace is housed in the six-storey Zuhura Place building, which opened in December 2025. The area hosts a range of industries including steel products, food manufacturing (oil processing, bakeries and nuts), pharmaceuticals, chemical production, steel mills, rubber processing and leather tanning.
IWG said the new Regus site will include private offices, meeting rooms, co-working areas and creative spaces, with its “Design Your Own Office” service enabling businesses to tailor office layouts to their needs.
The building owners, Wakati Limited, said it invested in the IWG platform to maximise returns on its real estate by tapping into growing demand for flexible and hybrid workspace models.
IWG noted that academic research has consistently linked flexible work models to improved work-life balance, financial savings and better health outcomes for employees, while employers benefit from stronger productivity, cost efficiency and improved workforce engagement.
A study by IWG and workplace consultancy Arup found that hybrid working can boost productivity by 11%.
The company added that global trends show the flexible office market is expanding rapidly, with projections indicating that 30% of all commercial real estate could be flexible workspace by 2030.

Mark Dixon, CEO and Founder of International Workplace Group PLC, said the Thika opening will support the company’s growth strategy in Kenya.
“We are establishing a stronger and much-needed footprint in Thika with this latest opening. As an important business hub, Zuhura Place is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans,” Dixon said.
“We are very pleased to work in partnership with Wakati Limited to develop the Regus brand under a management agreement that will add a cutting-edge workspace to their building.”
Susan Irungu, Managing Director at Wakati Limited, described the partnership as both strategic and symbolic.
“This partnership with IWG is more than a business arrangement – it is a statement about Thika’s potential and represents a natural, strategic next step for us,” she said.
“By connecting our clients to a global workspace ecosystem, we are opening doors, removing boundaries, and elevating our service offering.”
IWG currently operates thousands of flexible workspace locations globally, with members accessing services through the IWG app. In 2024, the company welcomed 899 new partner locations and counts 83% of Fortune 500 companies among its customer base.
