KPA Boss Ruto Appoints Said Mata as New Bandari FC Chairman in Major Shake-Up

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director Captain William Ruto who is also patron of the coastal based league side Bandari Football Club has appointed  the state  corporation’s  Manager accounting  Said Mata to take over from Taufiq Balala as the club’s new chairman of the board  of trustees with immediate effect.
The  club  has been without members of the board of trustees since December last year after it was dissolved when former members were at     the receiving end over the club’s performance.
Bandari Footbal Club Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tony Kibwana confirmed the latest new development during a talk show with a  local FM station at the port city.
He also said the authority Manager of Corporate Communication Jones Buchere is the club’s vice chairman with Peter Thuku becoming the club’s new treasurer.
Former  Kenya Ferry Service managing director Musa Hassan Musa will serve again as club  trustee as Gunda  Kaneno has also been reappointed  as club trustee member.
Others who have joined as club trustee members are John Martin, Clepatra Taabu and  Matreda Mwakredi.
The previously appointed club’s internal standing committee had served for less than six months before it was dissolved.
The coastal based league side will face Mara Sugar during  their weekend fixture to be played at the Mombasa Sport Club.
Bandari Football Club are in 9th position with 32 points after playing  23 matches while their weekend opponents are in 11th position with 28 points after playing 22 matches.
The club’s CEO confirmed during the talk show that their KPA Mbaraki Sports Club’s football pitch will be undergoing renovations.
He at same time confirmed that no football activity will take place at the field.
“All football fixtures involving our coast based Bandari Football club will be played somewhere else but within the Mombasa county,” he said.
