Ministry of Trade and Industrialization has proposed to have a desk where small-scale traders will have linkages between them and the investment-bound associations.
Trade Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano said a desk dubbed the “Karibu desk” will be established at the ministry where local manufacturers, traders, and investors will have a listening ear from the government.
She said the ministry will also link them to the other ministries in government.
“The proposed “Karibu desk” will have a listening ear to our local manufacturers and investors besides offering collaborations and trade linkages between crucial trade and manufacturing and investment bound associations and other ministries in government.” Miano said.
Miano said the government desires to extend deliberate support to local small-scale business people to ensure their prosperity to the international level.
“As we continue encouraging international investors to consider Kenya as their preferred destination, the special desk shall be deliberate in ensuring local entrepreneurs prosper to the international level.” She said.
