Eldoret authorities have arrested 34 young people from Mulot, Bomet County, who were duped into reporting to the Recruits Training School (RTS) under the false promise that they would replace Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) recruits.
Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed that the youths were intercepted last evening while being transported in three PSV vehicles and are currently being held at Baharani Police Station in Turbo Sub-County.

Mwanthi said investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators behind the scam, noting that the con artists exploited rumours that some recruits had been turned away from RTS due to medical issues.
He urged the public to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities, warning that such schemes prey on the hopes of job-seeking youth.
