Newline Media has announced plans to expand its training and attachment opportunities for students pursuing careers in media, public relations, information technology and related fields.
The initiative is aimed at helping students bridge the gap between what they learn in the classroom and the practical skills required in the media industry. Through attachments and hands-on training, students will have an opportunity to work with professionals and gain experience in areas such as radio, television, digital media, public relations, marketing and IT.
According to Newline Media, the programme responds to the need for graduates who are not only academically qualified but also confident in applying their skills in real working environments.
“Our goal is to give students an opportunity to learn by doing. When young people interact with real equipment, professionals and actual media projects, they develop skills and confidence that cannot be gained from classroom learning alone,” said Faith Mukundi.(Training managing partner).
The company also plans to strengthen its presence in different areas of the media industry as part of its long-term expansion. The expansion is expected to create more opportunities for students and young professionals while allowing Newline Media to reach wider audiences and provide more services.
One of the challenges facing young people entering the media industry is limited employment opportunities. Newline Media seeks to address this by equipping students with practical skills that can help them pursue employment or create their own opportunities through self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The company believes that teamwork , adaptability and the exchange of ideas are important qualities for success in the rapidly changing media environment.
The training programme is therefore expected to provide students with exposure to modern media practices while preparing them for the demands of the industry.
