Co-operative Bank of Kenya has showcased its innovative leasing solutions as part of efforts to expand access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services in Africa.
The bank’s team, led by Head of Asset Finance & Leasing DickDenis Munene, participated in this year’s Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) World Water Week, held from August 23 to 27 under the theme, “Shaping Decisions That Secure Water for the Future.”
The Co-op Bank team was joined by global partners and leaders from Water.org and Reckitt Benckiser Group plc (Reckitt), including Rich Thorsten, Chief Insights Officer at Water.org, and Phillip Kuest, Global Social Impact Water Lead at Reckitt.

During the international event, Co-op Bank showcased how its leasing solutions can help unlock access to water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure while supporting sustainable social, economic and environmental development.
The bank said its innovative financing solutions are aimed at addressing barriers to investment in WASH infrastructure by providing organisations and businesses with access to financing options for essential assets.
The discussions at World Water Week brought together stakeholders from across the globe to explore approaches to securing sustainable water resources and improving access to essential water and sanitation services.

Co-op Bank’s participation highlighted the growing role of financial institutions in supporting WASH investments and creating sustainable solutions that can deliver long-term benefits to communities.
Through its asset finance and leasing solutions, the bank continues to position financing as an important tool in supporting infrastructure development and promoting sustainable economic and environmental outcomes.
