Co-operative Bank of Kenya is expanding access to financing for sustainable water solutions as it seeks to help more customers invest in reliable water infrastructure.
The bank says its tailored asset financing solutions are designed to reduce the burden of high upfront costs, enabling customers to acquire water-related assets while managing their cash flow.
“We are helping bridge the gap between the need for sustainable water solutions and the financing required to make them a reality,” Co-op Bank said.

The lender made the remarks during its Meru Forum, held in partnership with Water.org, where stakeholders discussed the role of financial solutions in supporting sustainable water investments.
Co-op Bank Heads of Trade Finance Millicent Wahome and Asset Finance Dick Denis Munene shared insights on how financial tools can help customers turn sustainable investments into practical and profitable business decisions.
“Through tailored asset financing, we are enabling more customers to invest in reliable water solutions without the burden of high upfront costs,” the bank said.
The forum highlighted the growing importance of financing in helping businesses and individuals adopt water solutions that improve reliability while supporting long-term economic and environmental sustainability.

Co-op Bank said partnerships with organisations such as Water.org remain important in creating awareness and expanding access to financing for sustainable water solutions.
The initiative is expected to support customers seeking to invest in water infrastructure while demonstrating how financial institutions can contribute to sustainable development through targeted lending solutions.
