Co-operative Bank of Kenya has bagged the Product Innovation of the Year (Africa) award at the Global SME Finance Awards 2025.
The awards were hosted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the SME Finance Forum, with backing from the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI).
Co-op Bank i a statement sent to the media ,said the recognition was a major vote of confidence in its efforts to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
”Co-operative Bank of Kenya has been named Winner of the Product Innovation of the Year (Africa) at the Global SME Finance Awards 2025, hosted by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the SME Finance Forum, and endorsed by the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI). This recognition places Co-op Bank among the continent’s most innovative financial institutions, spotlighting its holistic approach to empowering MSMEs through tailored products, digital ecosystems, and inclusive financing models,” Bank said.
The lender pointed out that its tailored financial products, digital platforms, and inclusive lending models had been central to helping entrepreneurs grow.
The annual Global SME Finance Awards celebrate institutions that have made outstanding contributions to expanding financial access for small businesses.
