DCI, EACC Probe Nairobi County Chief Officer Over Alleged KSh130M Revenue Diversion

Detectives are probing a possible multi-million revenue diversion scheme with Chief Officer Tairus Njoroge under close scrutiny.

The multi-agency team of DCI and EACC are relying on several tip offs from oversight committees at the county assembly and concerned members of the public.

Reliable sources indicate that over Kshs 130 million is diverted after every ten days with the parking fees and single permit business remittances leading in diversion.

Tairus who is mostly described as a silent man with clever money making schemes has a team of several directors under him who are also under probe.

Despite the county declaring an improved revenue collection of Sh13 billion an MCA who spoke on request of anonymity said Tairus and his team could be denying the county an extra Ksh 1.9 billion every year.

The MCA says he has personally written to the investigative agencies and will also be writing to the Asset Recovery Agency to track property acquired and a possibility of offshore bank accounts run by the Chief officer.

“ We know the amount of property they have acquired within the last three years and even the investments Tairus and team are doing is clearly from proceeds of corruption through revenue diversion,”

An insider also revealed that the officer has several properties acquired which the asset recovery agency will be interested to follow up.
