DP Kindiki has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Kenyans through a series of targeted economic and social interventions.
Recognizing the pressing challenges facing millions across the country, the government is prioritizing the stabilization of the macroeconomic environment, job creation, and significant investments in infrastructure and social programs.
A key highlight in the 2025/2026 budget is the government’s decision not to impose any additional taxes on citizens. Instead, the focus is on prudent fiscal management aimed at fostering economic growth and stability.

This approach is designed to ease the financial burden on Kenyans while ensuring the country remains on a path of sustainable development.

Job creation remains a central pillar of the government’s agenda. Through initiatives such as the Affordable Housing and Economic Stimulus Program, over 250,000 Kenyans are currently benefiting from employment and income opportunities, including many in Makueni County.
These programs not only provide immediate relief but also lay the groundwork for long-term economic empowerment, especially for the youth.

In Makueni County specifically, the government has invested 2 billion shillings to connect 18,000 additional households to electricity.
Furthermore, Kilome Constituency has received 242 million shillings to connect 2,400 new households, underscoring the administration’s commitment to expanding access to essential services.
Infrastructure development is also being accelerated, with a pledge to revive and complete all stalled road projects. In Makueni, the upgrading of the Kasikeu-Kikoko, Kasikeu-Kilome, and Kautandini-Kiima Kiiu roads to bitumen standard is underway, fulfilling promises made by President William Ruto and ensuring smoother movement of people and goods
