Maa Council of Elders has vowed to drum up support for leaders committed to protecting the Maasai Mau Forest from destruction once elected in office.
Led by their chairman Kelena ole Nchoe, they lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga forleading the efforts to restore all the water towers in the country.
“We thank these two leaders for their tireless efforts in protecting our forests on which many livelihoods depend on,” he said.
The elders spoke during a consultative meeting in Ololulunga town in Narok South sub-county yesterday which was attended by hundreds of elders from the seven clans of the Maa people living in Narok.
Nchoe told unnamed politicians to stop imposing leaders on them saying they have the capacity to choose the leaders they want.
