Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has urged residents of the Mount Kenya region to ignore opposition propaganda and unite behind President William Ruto’s development agenda, saying the region stands to benefit more by staying focused on progress rather than political divisions.
Speaking in Gatundu North during the Jamii Imara Mashinani forum, Mwaura dismissed what he termed as “false narratives” meant to discredit the government’s achievements, calling instead for unity of purpose among leaders and citizens.
“This government is delivering real change. Some people want to confuse Kenyans with empty talk, but the facts are visible,” Mwaura said. “Look at the new roads, affordable housing, education reforms, and support for farmers. These are not promises — they are results.”

He said the government remains committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach every part of the country, including rural areas, through people-centered programs such as Jamii Imara Mashinani.
Mwaura accused a section of opposition politicians of attempting to divide Kenyans through propaganda, adding that the Kenya Kwanza administration’s focus is on delivery, not distraction.
“Politics should never come before service to the people,” he said. “Let us stay united as a country. The President’s plan is working — all we need is patience and partnership between government and citizens.”
The Jamii Imara Mashinani forum, which brings together Principal Secretaries, CEOs, and other senior officials, seeks to take government services and information directly to communities, allowing residents to engage leaders on projects and policy implementation.

Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome, who also attended the event, said the Mount Kenya region has benefited from several government projects and must continue backing the President’s vision for inclusive development.
“We have seen new markets, water projects, and housing developments transforming lives,” Wahome said. “Our region must remain united behind the President’s leadership and avoid the politics of division.”
She added that her ministry is digitizing land services across the country to promote transparency and eliminate corruption.
Principal Secretary for Correctional Services Salome Wairimu Muhia said the government’s approach through Jamii Imara Mashinani demonstrates that leadership must be about listening and delivering.

“Development begins with dialogue,” Muhia said. “When people see and feel the impact of government programs, trust is built — and that’s what this initiative is about.”
Public Health PS Mary Muthoni called on Kenyans to support reforms in healthcare, saying a healthy population is central to productivity and national growth.
