In a coordinated operation, law enforcement officers have arrested three suspected robbery with violence suspects and recovered a firearm, dealing a major blow to a suspected criminal network.
The operation, carried out yesterday at around 1:04 a.m., involved a joint team of officers from Ngong Police Station, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and police officers from Mwea–Makutano Police Post.

Acting on intelligence, the team tracked the suspects to the Makutano–Ngomongo area in Kirinyaga County, where they were believed to be hiding.
The officers arrested three individuals identified as Alex Wanjiku alias Aleko, Job Wachira Wanjohi, and Francis Kinyanjui Wanjiku alias Kinyaa.
Police believe the trio is linked to a violent robbery incident that occurred in Ngong on March 12, 2025, in which a victim was shot and seriously injured.
During the arrest, Francis Kinyanjui Wanjiku alias Kinyaa was found in possession of a Glock 17 pistol loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition, strengthening suspicions of their involvement in the crime.
Officers also recovered a red TVS motorcycle, registration number KMGD 970K, which is suspected to have been used as a getaway vehicle during the robbery.
In addition, clothing believed to have been worn by the suspects on the day of the incident was recovered, providing key evidence for investigators.
The suspects are currently being held at Ngong Police Station as investigations continue, with authorities seeking to establish whether they are connected to other criminal activities.
Police have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining public safety and urged members of the public to continue sharing information that can assist in combating crime.
