The County Assembly of Isiolo has admitted that it violated the law when it failed to constitute an audit committee as required by the law.
Speaker Mohamed Roba told the County Public Accounts Committee (CPAC) of the Senate that the Assembly was in breach of the law in line with the findings of the office of the Auditor General on the absence of the committee.

In the Assembly’s financial accounts for the 2019/20 financial year, Auditor General Nancy Gathungu faulted the County Assembly Service Board for failing to establish the Audit Committee whose mandate is to provide oversight on financial operations.
“We acknowledge the Auditor General’s observation,” Speaker Roba told the CPAC which is chaired by Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang’.
“During the 2020/21 financial year, the Board appointed members to the Audit Committee as required by the law.”
