Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo on Friday joined Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki and a host of leaders for an Economic Empowerment Program in Maragua Constituency.
The event, hosted by Maragua MP Hon. Mary Wamaua, brought together hundreds of groups and Saccos from across the region in a bid to promote grassroots economic transformation.
Kabogo emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering communities through access to resources, opportunities, and digital infrastructure, noting that digital inclusion is central to the Kenya Kwanza administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
“As the Ministry continues to expand digital access and skills across the country, we will work closely with local leadership to ensure every Kenyan—regardless of location—can participate in and benefit from the digital economy,” the CS stated.
The program aims to uplift local entrepreneurs and farmers by linking them to credit facilities, capacity-building initiatives, and digital tools that can enhance productivity.
Also in attendance were National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, Murang’a Woman Representative Betty Maina, Nominated MP Sabina Chege, Mathioya MP Dr. Edwin Mugo, Kipkelion East MP Joseph Cherorot, Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, Kajiado Woman Rep Leah Sankaire, Nominated Senator Veronica Maina, Senator Karen Nyamu, Lamu Woman Rep Muthoni Marubu, Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi, and several MCAs.
