Koskei Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Citizen-Centered Public Service

Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering a citizen-focused and transparent public service, rooted in integrity and inclusivity.

Speaking on Friday during the inaugural ExecutiveKE Caucus Convention in Mombasa, Koskei emphasized the need for a responsive public sector that prioritizes outcomes to improve the lives of Kenyans.

The two-day convention brought together chief executive officers from government institutions to deliberate on public service reforms and strategic delivery aligned with national development goals.

“We are building a public service that is responsive, inclusive and transparent,” said Koskei. “This includes strengthening digital infrastructure, building capacity for our public servants, reducing corruption, and leveraging technology to enhance accountability.”

Koskei urged public sector leaders to uphold integrity and discipline in service delivery, stressing that leadership must reflect the principles of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformational Agenda (BETA) championed by President William Ruto.

“I urge you to strengthen peer accountability as you work toward accelerating government delivery,” he said. “Focus on institutional consistency and ensure that outcomes are centered around citizens’ needs.”

Koskei also encouraged collaboration among public institutions and innovation in leadership to foster sustainable impact.

Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni, who also addressed the gathering, echoed the call for a renewed focus on efficiency and transparency across all levels of public service.

The ExecutiveKE platform is envisioned to be a continuous forum for public sector leaders to exchange best practices, align institutional goals with national priorities, and deepen service impact for Kenyans across the country.
