David Omondi Omogo, an employee at the Domestic Taxes Department of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), appeared in the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court today facing four charges of bribery under Section 6(1)(a) read with Section 18 of the Anti-Bribery Act No. 47 of 2016.
Omogo is accused of soliciting a Ksh. 5 million bribe from Pascal Ovinda to influence a reduction in tax arrears owed by Infinity Benefits Limited, which amounts to Ksh. 25,213,378.
During the proceedings before Chief Magistrate Thomas Nzyoki, Omogo entered a plea of not guilty. He was granted bail on a cash amount of Ksh. 3 million or a bond of Ksh. 6 million with one surety of the same amount.

The court has also ordered Omogo to surrender his passports and avoid any contact with witnesses in the case.
