LG Electronics (LG) and its main distribution partner in Kenya, Opalnet, have announced Kivaya Josiah, Kenneth Kiprono Kibet and Aune Annet as the winners of the LG Wedding Season Challenge, a month-long campaign that sought to celebrate love and mark the beginning of new journeys with technology that supports modern living.
The competition invited individuals to share their unique relationship moments, specifically around their decisions to move in together, for a chance to win items in their LG/Opalnet Wedding wish lists. Among the products to choose from are a 9kg Front Load Washing Machine, a 234L Refrigerator and a 55-inch Smart TV.
The three winners stood out for the way they captured the spirit of connection that defines both love and the LG brand. Each of their submissions reflected how innovation and care can enhance marriages.
LG used the campaign to showcase its range of home appliances, which are designed to make newly married life easier and more enjoyable. The LG InstaView refrigerator, with its knock-on glass panel and energy-efficient cooling system, for example, helps couples organize their kitchens while keeping ingredients fresh. The LG AI DD washing machine offers intelligent fabric care and time-saving performance, giving families more moments together instead of managing laundry. Meanwhile, the LG OLED TV, known for its vivid picture quality and immersive sound, provides a shared experience that brings shows to life.
During the duration of the campaign LG appliances and equipment were available at discounts of up to 55%, allowing buyers to afford the perfect wedding gifts for couples starting their journey.
Speaking during the winners’ announcement, LG’s President for East Africa, Donghun Lee, described the Wedding Season Challenge as part of the company’s broader effort to connect technology with real human experiences.
“The initiative served as a reminder that LG products are not just about function but about creating spaces where couples can grow together and enjoy a more balanced lifestyle,” he said.
The campaign received participation from across the region, with hundreds of entries submitted online. Many participants expressed appreciation for how LG continues to engage with its customers in authentic ways that reflect everyday life.
Opalnet’s Managing Director Rakesh Singh added that more similar offers and giveaways are lined up for the coming festive season.
