Mike Sonko Honored with Global Leadership Award at UK Parliament

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, through his platform Mike Sonko TV, has been honored with a Leadership Excellence Award during the Global Leadership Investment Summit and Peace Awards (GLISPA) held at the House of Lords, British Parliament, London on Friday, 26th September 2025.

Sonko’s recognition is anchored on his illustrious political career, transformational leadership, and his unmatched impact through the Sonko Rescue Team, which has touched countless lives by offering emergency support, health services, education support, and humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable.

Kenyans have congratulated the former Governor for flying the country’s flag high on the global stage.

This comes a day after the Governor offered to adopt a young girl estimated to be a year old or so old following the tragic death of her mother.

The girl who is at Misuuni sub County Hospital, was taken on 24th Wednesday by wellwishers after her mother was hit by a lorry and died on the spot at the Emali/Oloitoktok junction. The body of the mother was taken to Kilome Nursing and it’s said that she didn’t have any identification documents with her.

“We are appealing to anyone who might recognize the child to please present themselves at the hospital to help in tracing their family/relatives and if in any case her relatives will not be traced, as usual I will be willing to chip in and adopt her hapa ndio blessings upatikana,” Sonko posted.

Sonko has previously helped needy families and adopted vulnerable children as part of his good deeds agenda to the society.
