“Naivas is pleased to announce a leadership transition as part of its long-term growth strategy. Effective first of next month, Andreas von Paleske, currently Chief of Strategy, will succeed David Kimani as Chief Executive Officer,” Naivas said in a statement.

While acknowledging his leadership skills at the helm of the Chain store, the retailer has stated that Kimani who is among the founding members of the Chain store will continue to play a role in the business.

Speaking on the transition, Kimani has said the 35th anniversary is the correct moment to pass the baton for the next leadership as he expressed belief in the leadership of Paleske.

“Having achieved several landmark milestones in the past few years, and with a strong leadership team in place, I could not think of a better opportunity than our 35-year anniversary to pass on the baton to Andreas,” he said.

On his part Naivas International Chairperson Arnaud Lagesse acknowledged the role played by David as he remarked that Andreas is best fit for the role as they expect him to take the business to the next level.

According to the Chairman, Andreas understands the retailer’s culture together with its values.

“David’s role laying the foundations of one Kenya’s corporate success stories is truly commendable, and with Andreas we have the right leader to take the business to even greater heights. Andreas brings deep industry experience and a strong understanding of Naivas’ culture and values. His appointment ensures continuity and positions the company for its next phase of growth,” Arnaud stated.

This comes even as the retailer has maintained that it is committed to delivering value to its customers, partners, and communities, adding that the transition reinforces its focus on sustainable growth and operational excellence.
