Optiven-Co-op Bank New Housing Deal Offers Diaspora Kenyans a Safe Path Home

A groundbreaking partnership between Optiven Limited, Cooperative Bank of Kenya, and Everstrong Maskani LLP is opening new doors for Kenyans in the diaspora seeking to invest in real estate back home—without the risks and frustrations that have plagued them for years.

The new initiative, dubbed the Maskani Bora Turnkey Project, simplifies the homeownership journey by offering verified land, professional construction, and accessible financing—all under one trusted framework.

At the forefront is Optiven Limited, a renowned real estate firm, which will take charge of sourcing and verifying plots, ensuring investors—especially those abroad—don’t fall victim to fraud.

“We understand the diaspora market because we’ve walked the journey with them. This project brings peace of mind, security, and the promise of timely delivery,” said George Wachiuri, CEO of Optiven Limited.
“Our vision is to economically and socially empower families through homeownership.”

Under the collaboration, Cooperative Bank of Kenya will offer diaspora-friendly financing of up to KSh 10.5 million through the Kenya Mortgage Refinancing Company (KMRC) model.

The financing applies to homes valued at a maximum of KSh 15 million, making the dream of owning a decent, affordable home back home a reality.

“Whether you’re in the U.S., Qatar, or the U.K., you can apply for the KMRC mortgage. It’s part of our commitment to bringing diaspora Kenyans into the fold of affordable homeownership,” said Japhet Kahindi Ponda, Head of Mortgage Finance at Cooperative Bank.

Once land is secured and financing approved, Everstrong Maskani LLP takes charge of design and construction. Their promise is bold: no upfront payments, full transparency, and home delivery within 12 months.

“You walk the journey with us—from groundbreaking to handover. We conduct evaluations and keep clients updated at every stage,” said Henry Kyanda, Managing Partner at Everstrong Maskani LLP.
“We’ve eliminated hidden costs, poor workmanship, and unreliable contractors.”
