Panyako Decries ‘Stolen Victory’, Vows to Challenge Malava Poll Outcome

DAP-K’s Seth Panyako has vowed to continue his political fight after alleging that the Malava by-election was marred by manipulation, intimidation, and targeted victimisation of his team.

In a strongly worded statement issued after UDA’s David Ndakwa was declared MP-elect, Panyako insisted that the official results do not reflect the true will of Malava residents.

He claimed that while his camp dominated the majority of polling stations, a group of “compromised centres” overturned the outcome.

“We won in 134 polling stations, but they used 54 to subvert the will of the people,” he said.

Panyako accused unnamed actors of orchestrating a scheme to deny him victory, adding that those responsible would ultimately face accountability.

“To those who subverted your will, judgement awaits them,” he warned.

He said his supporters remained steadfast despite what he described as violence, threats, and attempts on his life during the campaign period.

“Despite violence against us and attempts on my life, you stood firm. Our heads are still up,” he said, adding that the resilience shown by his team proved their strength and unity.

Panyako praised his campaign team, DAP-K leaders, legal advisers, and agents who endured what he termed victimisation at the tallying centre. He also thanked supporters who rallied behind his bid, including those who made small financial contributions.

He maintained that the disputed outcome will not derail his political ambitions.

“I have not lost this election, and therefore it cannot determine my political future,” he said.
