Police in Kitale are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a patron at popular club in the town.
County Criminal Investigations Officer Francis Kihara confirmed that James Karrim, 34, was found dead inside Touch Night Club on Friday night.
Club manager Brian Siambe said the deceased had walked into the bar while already drunk at around 2am but did not order for any refreshment.
“He sat on a couch where he stretched out and it was assumed he was sleeping,” said Siambe. Staff got concerned when Karrim failed to wake up even after all other revelers had left by 3am.
“We raised the alarm before security officers from Kitale Police Station arrived and confirmed he had died,” he added.
Kihara said preliminary probe indicated the body had no visible injury.“Crime scene officers learnt from the deceased’s sister, Fardosa Ali, that he had a history of asthma attacks,” added Kihara.
