Kenya’s vibrant Afro-Latin dance community is set to reignite with the return of AfroLatin Tamasha 2.0, themed “Celebrating Rhythm, Culture & Connection.” Following the success of its inaugural edition and the “Dance & Vibes” event, AfroLatin Tamasha is making a much-anticipated comeback on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at REDROOM, Adlife Plaza, Kilimani.
The upcoming event, a Pan-African cultural showcase, promises an unforgettable celebration that will captivate audiences with the fusion of African and Latin American rhythms. It will bring together dancers, music lovers, and cultural enthusiasts from eight countries — Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, South Africa, Ghana, France, Tunisia, and Kenya. Attendees can look forward to an immersive experience that blends live music—featuring salsa, kizomba, bachata, semba, and afrobeats—with high-energy social dance performances from some of Africa’s top talent.
More than just entertainment, AfroLatin Tamasha 2.0 provides a powerful platform for showcasing local and regional dancers, musicians, and choreographers while promoting connection and collective wellness among its community of more than 7,000 enthusiasts. The event aims to connect artists and audiences across East and Southern Africa, reinforce Nairobi’s position as a regional hub for Afro-Latin culture, and foster artistic expression that contributes to the growth of Kenya’s creative economy. The festival is expected to attract young professionals, creatives, and trendsetters, driving cultural exchange and spotlighting the positive impact of dance on wellness and belonging.
The sensational live performance will be headlined by Ritmo Connexion, a dynamic band made up of East African musicians known for masterfully blending diverse Afro-Latin rhythms. Key performers include Mike Jozee, Sanchez Salvador, Niyo Boi, Shirleen Ishenyi, Keisha Harris, and Moses Karanja, among others. The music experience will be amplified by top Nairobi DJs such as Jam Mixmaster Dan the DJ, DJ D’Cure, and DJ BRANN, ensuring the dance floor stays vibrant with Afrobeat, Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Merengue, Kizomba, and Kompa. High-energy Afrobeat dancers will further elevate the night with electrifying visual performances.
Robert Munene, Founder of AfroLatin Tamasha, emphasized the significance of the event, stating:
> “AfroLatin Tamasha 2.0 is an essential step toward our larger vision — connecting artists across East and Southern Africa, promoting wellness through dance, and turning rhythm into livelihood. We’ve curated an evening that promises even more excitement and showcases the vibrant fusion of African and Latin cultures through music and dance, reinforcing Nairobi as a regional hub for this movement.”
He added:
> “This event is about creating regular opportunities for our community to connect, celebrate, and experience the richness of Afro-Latin culture. We invite everyone — from seasoned dancers to the simply curious — to join us for a night of unforgettable music and dance.”
