President William Ruto has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of gospel artiste Beatrice Wairimu Mbugua, popularly known as Betty Bayo, describing her as an extraordinary voice that brought hope to countless Kenyans.
In a statement, President Ruto praised Betty Bayo’s contribution to gospel music, highlighting her breakthrough hit “11th Hour”, which became an anthem of divine turnaround and offered comfort to many seeking strength and healing.
“Her voice carried hope into the hearts of countless Kenyans,” the President said, noting that for over 15 years, Betty Bayo’s music lifted spirits and inspired resilience, renewal, and steadfast faith even in life’s toughest moments.

President Ruto emphasized that her message was consistent and heartfelt: never give up, no matter the hour, no matter the storm.
He added, “Her voice may have fallen silent, but her ministry lives on in every heart she touched, every soul she uplifted, and every life she helped steady in difficult moments.”
