President William Ruto has said the results of Thursday’s by-elections reflect increasing public confidence in Kenya’s democratic institutions, noting that the peaceful polls and smooth transitions demonstrate political maturity across the country.
In a message congratulating the newly elected leaders, the President framed their victories as a testament to the country’s commitment to unity and collective progress.
He applauded the winners across different parties and regions, including David Ndakwa (Malava), Leonard Wamuthende (Mbeere North), Ahmed Hassan (Banisa), Vincent Chemitei (Baringo), Moses Omondi (Ugunja), Harrison Kombe (Magarini), and Boyd Were (Kasipul).

Ruto said their success highlights the trust voters have placed in them, adding that leadership must now be anchored in service and cohesion.
“Your victory is a powerful reminder to us that we are bigger and better as a country when we are united,” the President said.
He urged the leaders to use their mandates to promote development and bridge divides within their constituencies.
The by-elections, held in 22 electoral areas, were largely peaceful, with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commended by various observers for efficient management of the process.
Ruto said the outcome sends a clear message that Kenya is stronger when its citizens choose unity and democratic engagement over division and conflict.
