TÜV Nord Certifies Samsung Bespoke AI Smart Appliances

Samsung Electronics has announced that three of its latest smart home products — the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam, Bespoke Jet Bot Combo, and Bespoke AI Refrigerators — have received IoT security certification from TÜV Nord, a global certification body headquartered in Germany.

This milestone marks the first time Samsung’s digital appliances have achieved TÜV Nord certification, reinforcing the company’s leadership in both advanced home appliance innovation and cybersecurity.

“As the global focus on smart home security intensifies, Samsung continues to deliver robust protection through our Knox security platform,” said Jeong Seung Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team for Samsung’s Digital Appliances Business.

“This certification validates the strength of our security technologies, and we will continue to enhance differentiated protection to safeguard customer data.”

TÜV Nord is a widely recognized institution, accredited by the IECEE (International Electrotechnical Commission System of Conformity Assessment Schemes). The certification follows the ETSI EN 303 645 standard, which outlines key cybersecurity and privacy requirements for consumer IoT devices.

These include encryption of sensitive data, secure authentication, controlled access, reliable software updates, protection of personal information, and effective vulnerability management.

The certification comes at a time when Europe is tightening regulations for connected devices, with updates to the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and the impending implementation of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

Samsung’s compliance demonstrates its readiness to meet evolving international standards and commitment to consumer protection in increasingly connected homes.

Samsung’s appliances incorporate Knox security technologies, which provide multi-layered protection. Features include real-time verification of unauthorized firmware changes and end-to-end encryption of monitoring video and user commands.

The newly certified devices also integrate Knox Matrix and Knox Vault: Knox Matrix enables mutual monitoring between devices to flag potential security breaches, while Knox Vault secures sensitive data, such as passwords, on a dedicated hardware subsystem.

The Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam will debut at IFA 2025 in September, while the Bespoke Jet Bot Combo and Bespoke AI Refrigerators are already being introduced in select global markets.
