Auntie Jemimah: I was always making people happy, yet I was sad

When Auntie Jemimah lost her daughter at birth last year, she came face to face with the nasty side of the internet.

There was a whole lot of people who had unkind things to say about her, and it weighed on her.

The internet that she has used to develop her career in comedy had turned on Auntie Jemimah, whose real name is Wangari Nguri. Lots of people shared unkind words and barbs, weighing down her already heavy heart.

The former accountant shares her journey of growth, cyberattacks and why she had to step back from the online spaces and what she told her therapist that would begin her healing journey.
