Co-operative Bank of Kenya has extended its support to the National Police Service by sponsoring the upcoming Annual Athletics Championship with a Ksh. 500,000 cheque presented yesterday to the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja (MGH, CBS, OGW).
The cheque was handed over by Mr. Jackson Muendo, Co-op Bank’s Head of Consumer Banking, in a brief ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, ahead of the highly anticipated athletics meet slated for June 3–4, 2025.
Co-op Bank in a statement expressed commitment to partnering with institutions that promote discipline, talent development, and national unity.

The sponsorship will go toward organizing the championship, which brings together elite and upcoming athletes from police formations across the country.
The annual event serves as a key platform for talent identification and preparation ahead of national and international competitions.
Inspector General Kanja lauded Co-op Bank for the continued support, noting that corporate partnerships are crucial in building a strong and motivated service.
He added that these partnerships have enabled the Service to make consistent progress and deliver impactful results.
