Riruta Police Station administration block was officially opened today by the Deputy Inspector General-Kenya Police Service Mr. Edward Mbugua.

The project was funded by Dagoretti south NG-CDF and initiated by the area member of the National Assembly Hon. John Kiarie.

During the public launch, the DIG-KPS applauded the construction of the modern police station as one that will improve service delivery.

He also highlighted the successes of the vibrant cooperation between police and the public and commended the public for the overwhelming support to the community policing initiative that has led to a significant reduction in crime.

Plans to upgrade the station to a Sub-County level (formerly called divisions) are underway.

Hon. John Kiarie noted that police stations are centres for the maintenance of peace, law, and order and called for increased collaboration between bodaboda operators and the police service.

Speakers at the event encouraged the public to volunteer information to the police, a move that will greatly aid in curbing criminal activities in the area.
