Former Nyeri MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has ignited a flurry of online reactions after being questioned for his silence on the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict, now in its 12th day.
The debate began when social media user Mwangi Kibathi posted:
“Yaani this Iran Israel war is in its 12th day and Ngunjiri Wambugu has never written anything about it?”
Wambugu’s response was brief but loaded with political undertones:
“Is Jofri involved?”
In his political commentary, Wambugu often refers to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as “Jofri.” and his remark immediately created social buzz, with Kenyans engaging his comment and speculating about its meaning.
Other users quickly joined the conversation. Kagai Geoffrey posted:
“Anagoje Jofri avae Ile helmet andike sasa, Wangenye Wangenye.”
Another participant claimed that Jofri was “very much involved” and had even been nicknamed “Ayatollah” in online chatter.
