Gachagua, Jimi Wanjigi Hold Second Meeting in a Month at Wamunyoro

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday hosted businessman and political strategist Jimi Wanjigi at his Wamunyoro residence, marking their second consultative meeting within a month.

The latest engagement underscores growing political consultations between the two leaders as opposition figures continue to chart their strategy ahead of future political developments.

In a statement shared after the meeting, Gachagua described the discussions as enriching and informative, saying they focused on the country’s political direction and the need for continued consultations.

“I had the benefit of a further enriching and informative consultation with businessman and political strategist Jimi Wanjigi at the Wamunyoro residence today,” Gachagua said.

He added that every opinion and piece of advice remains important in what he termed the journey to liberate the country.

“The journey for the liberation of our country is a tough one and every opinion and advice is crucial. But we shall get there. It is a matter of when, not if,” he stated.

Gachagua said consultations with like-minded leaders and stakeholders would continue, expressing confidence that their shared political objectives would eventually be achieved.

The meeting comes barely a month after the two leaders held a similar consultation at the Wamunyoro residence, fueling speculation about closer political cooperation ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Neither Gachagua nor Wanjigi disclosed the specific resolutions reached during the latest meeting, but both have in recent months intensified engagements with opposition leaders and other political stakeholders as Kenya’s political landscape continues to evolve.
