Gachagua Launches New Political Party, Sets June 4 for Official Public Debut

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has unveiled his political party dubbed Democracy for Citizen party to the Public noting the real event will be held on  June 4, 2025.

Gachagua unveiled the party on Thursday  its headquarters on Musa Gitau Road in Lavington, Nairobi accompanied by several officials among them John Methu (Nyandarua) ,Karugo Thagwa (Kiambu) Mithika Linturi, Maina Kamanda (Starehe) and Cate Waruguru among others.

DCP party whose slogan is is “Kazi na Haki,” which means “Work and Justice.” was registered on February 3, 2025 and has office at Musa Gitau road , Lavington Nairobi.

Speaking during the event , Gachagua stated that the party belongs to everyone and no one will be given direct nomination.

He rallied Kenyans to support the party at both national and grassroot level.

“This is a party for everyone and no one will be favoured during the nominations ,its Kenyans who will decide ,” said Gachagua. adding , “We are here to listen to Kenyans and serve them.”

Gachagua named Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala as Deputy Party Leader, Hezron Obanga is the Interim Secretary General, and former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi as the National Organizing Secretary.

Others include ; Cate Waruguru , Maina Kamanda among others.

Gachagua Launches New Political Party

The party’s symbol is a hand holding an ear, symbolizing the act of listening to netizens, with its official colors being green, red, white and black.

Gachagua recently said that he is open to work with other leaders across the Country .

Recently , he held a consultative meeting with Kalonzo Musyoka( Wiper Party) , Martha Karua (People Liberation Party),Eugene Wamalwa ,(DAP-K ), Wainaina jungle (National Party of Kenya ), Fred Matiang’i (Presidential candidate ) among others.

Gachagua’s new party is expected to paly key role in the Mount Kenya politics ahead of 2027 general election as move to counter Ruto’s dominance in the region.
