Gachagua lists businesses allegedly owned by Kenyan President William Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has publicly listed several businesses he claims are linked to President William Ruto, raising questions over possible conflicts of interest involving companies that have dealings with the government.

Speaking during a public address, Gachagua alleged that the President has interests in a number of enterprises, including Sidian Bank, the financial service Fuliza, and the Nairobi-based Weston Hotel.

According to the former deputy president, some of the businesses mentioned are allegedly involved in transactions or partnerships that intersect with government operations, which he argued could raise questions under Kenya’s conflict of interest laws.

Gachagua further claimed that certain institutions connected to the list of businesses have previously faced scrutiny, including a hospital he alleged was linked to controversial kidney transplant operations. He called on relevant authorities to investigate the ownership structures of companies associated with the President.

The remarks come amid escalating political tensions between the two leaders, who have increasingly clashed in public over political influence and leadership within the Mount Kenya region and the broader national political landscape.
