Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has announced the completion of a state-of-the-art Modern Theatre Complex at Matunda Sub-County Hospital in Kiminini, a milestone set to enhance access to advanced healthcare services for residents.
The facility, which is now ready for equipment installation ahead of its official commissioning, features four fully equipped surgical theatres and a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU). It is designed to support complex surgical procedures and the management of critical medical cases.
Speaking on his X account, Governor Natembeya said the project is part of the county government’s efforts to bring life-saving and specialized medical services closer to residents, while reducing the long distances and high costs previously incurred in search of quality care.
“This facility reaffirms our commitment to strengthening healthcare systems across Trans Nzoia County and ensuring that every resident has access to dignified, timely, and quality medical care,” he said.
The completion of the Modern Theatre Complex underscores the county’s focus on building a healthier, stronger, and more resilient Trans Nzoia for all its residents.
