The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has officially taken over the Secretariat of the Association for Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA) from the Examinations Council of Zambia (ECZ).
The handover follows the appointment of KNEC CEO, Dr. David Njengere, as the new Executive Secretary and CEO of AEAA. The ceremony took place earlier today at the New Mitihani House in Nairobi, where Dr. Njengere formally received the Secretariat from ECZ Executive Director and outgoing AEAA Executive Secretary, Dr. Michael M. Chilala.
With the Secretariat now based in Kenya, KNEC will serve as the administrative hub for the Association, which coordinates and promotes best practices in educational assessment across Africa.
Dr. Njengere’s appointment and the relocation of the Secretariat are expected to enhance Kenya’s role in shaping continental educational standards and fostering collaboration among assessment bodies in the region.
