ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing science, technology, and innovation through strategic partnerships with the Kenya Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kenya-AIST).
Speaking after a meeting with a Kenya-AIST delegation led by Chairperson Prof. Mutisya, CS Kabogo emphasized the institution’s critical role in training exceptional scientists and engineers to drive Kenya’s social and economic transformation.
“The Kenya-AIST programme is a key pillar in our efforts to fast-track modernization and position Kenya as a middle-income country as envisioned in Vision 2030. Science, Technology, and Innovation are essential in achieving this goal,” said Kabogo.
The discussions focused on the operationalization of Kenya-AIST and fostering partnerships with private sector players to ensure homegrown innovations are recognized and utilized across various industries.
Also present at the meeting were PS for ICT and Digital Economy John Tanui and Kenya-AIST Council members, who expressed their commitment to enhancing Kenya’s research and innovation landscape.
