A Standard Eight pupil of Gathanji Primary School in Gatanga, Murang’a allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday after she was send home to bring her parent.
Newsline Digital established the girl was sent home by a teacher to go for her parent because she had failed to complete an assignment.
Murang’a County Police Commander Donatha Kiplangat said a DCI team was dispatched to the school to conduct further interviews with learners and teachers.
“The matter requires forensic investigations to establish the circumstances that led the student to commit suicide,” added Kiplangat.
The 13-year old KCPE candidate became the second pupil to commit suicide in the area in the last two years
