Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi met with the Dominican Republic’s Minister of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs, Hon. Víctor Bisonó, to explore new trade and investment opportunities between the two countries.
The talks focused on strengthening commercial ties through the countries’ chambers of commerce, with an emphasis on value addition in key sectors such as coffee, horticulture, and other potential export products.
“Our discussion centred on unlocking value addition ventures through stronger commercial links. Kenya has much to offer in sectors like coffee, and we are optimistic that a partnership with the Dominican Republic can open up new opportunities,” said Mudavadi.
The meeting also explored the possibility of establishing direct flights between Nairobi and Santo Domingo.
Mudavadi noted that a direct air link would be a strategic step forward—not only for trade but also for strengthening cultural and diplomatic relations.
