Civic and political movement Kenya Moja Coalition has continued with it’s Championship to unite Kenyans regardless of their tribe, age or religion.
A leader of the civil society and Bunge la Mwananchi President Francis Awino has urged Kenyans to its call and reject leaders who will tend to divide them.
Kenya Moja Initiative is premised on bringing all Kenyans together irrespective of tribes, age, region or religion.
“We must reject all attempts at dividing us on the basis of tribalism because if we are to go that route, some of the mixed heritage and background will go where? This Country is for us all,” Awino stated.
This is even as Francis has criticized Gachagua accusing him of playing tribal politics.
He called on the former Deputy President to seize being divisive and chant a way for a united Kenya.
Launched early this month, has been Championing for non-discriminatory development.
Kenya Moja positions itself as a movement rooted in national healing and equitable progress, rejecting tribal arithmetic, political personality cults, and transactional politics.
“This is not a coalition of convenience but a movement of conviction. We want to build a fairer, freer, and more unified republic where all Kenyans feel seen, heard, and served,” Awino stated during the launch.
The coalition traces the need for its formation to decades of exclusion dating back to the 1965 Sessional Paper No. 10, which directed state resources to already privileged regions.
From the centralization of power in the 1970s to the post-election violence in 2007 and the unfulfilled promise of devolution since 2010, Kenya Moja argues that persistent inequality and political division have left many communities underserved.
The group has an outline vision to foster inclusive development, promote civic education among the youth, reject divisive politics, and demand accountability from both national and county governments.
In the coming weeks, Kenya Moja plans to hold Mashinani forums and public rallies nationwide to engage citizens in shaping a more inclusive future.
