Kingdom Bank of Kenya has issued a public alert warning customers and potential clients to beware of fraudsters posing as bank agents and demanding money to open accounts.
In a strongly worded statement released this week, the bank clarified that it does not charge any fees for account opening and urged Kenyans to stay vigilant against scammers who claim otherwise.
“Tangazo! Tangazo! Kingdom Bank does not charge any fees to open an account. If you come across scammers claiming otherwise, do not fall for it!” the bank cautioned via its official communication channels.
The bank advised customers to report any suspicious activity and to always verify information by contacting Kingdom Bank directly via 0709 881 300 or WhatsApp: 0703 112 779.
As digital banking grows in popularity, financial institutions are increasingly facing impersonation attempts by cybercriminals and fraudsters.
Kingdom Bank’s timely alert serves as a critical reminder to the public to never send money to unverified individuals or agents.
The bank has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparent, affordable, and secure banking services for all Kenyans.
