KUCCPS Placement 2026: How to Check Your Course and University

Students who applied for placement to universities and colleges through the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) can check their placement details through the official KUCCPS Student’s Portal.

KUCCPS coordinates the placement of students to universities, national polytechnics, technical training institutes and other accredited higher learning institutions for government-sponsored programmes.

How to check KUCCPS placement

Students can follow these steps:

  1. Visit the official KUCCPS Student’s Portal.
  2. Click Login.
  3. Enter your KCSE Index Number.
  4. Enter your KCSE examination year.
  5. Enter your password.
  6. Once logged in, access My Placements to view your placement information. The official portal currently provides a dedicated My Placements section.

Students using the portal for the first time should note that the initial password is their Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Index Number, as used during KCSE registration.

How to know your university and course

After successfully logging into the Student’s Portal, students can access their placement information to establish the institution and programme to which they have been placed.

KUCCPS also provides students with access to available institutions, programmes and minimum requirements through the Student’s Portal.

For the 2026/2027 placement cycle, KUCCPS has published degree programme cut-off resources and continues to provide placement-related information through its official platforms.

What if you were not placed?

Students who did not secure a course during an application or revision window may be required to wait for further instructions from KUCCPS or participate in another available application opportunity.

In May 2026, KUCCPS opened a second application window for students who had not secured degree placement, allowing them to revise their choices or make new applications.

KUCCPS has also previously advised students who secured provisional placement that they should wait for the official release of placement results.

KUCCPS placement requirements

KUCCPS states that placement is based on merit and an approved affirmative-action criterion covering factors including gender, persons with disabilities and marginalised regions. Candidates must also meet the minimum admission requirements for the programmes they apply for.

Students experiencing difficulties accessing their placement information can use the official KUCCPS website and Student’s Portal for updates and guidance.
