Pauline Njoroge Quits Jubilee to Join Linda Mwananchi Movement

Political communications strategist Pauline Njoroge has resigned from the Jubilee Party, signalling a shift in her political allegiance as she formally commits to the Linda Mwananchi movement and the broader “Wantam” campaign advocating political change.

In a statement announcing her departure, Njoroge said she had stepped down as Deputy Organizing Secretary, a member of the Jubilee Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), and as an ordinary party member after 14 years of service.

Her resignation comes at a time when Kenya’s opposition landscape is undergoing realignment ahead of the 2027 General Election, with several political actors coalescing around calls for governance reforms and political transition.

Njoroge said her decision followed months of engagement with the Linda Mwananchi movement, which she joined in February.

“My conviction has only grown stronger that this movement represents an important platform for advancing the aspirations of our generation: a Kenya founded on good governance, the rule of law, constitutionalism, accountability and servant leadership,” she said.

She added that the movement aligns with the growing “Wantam” call, which she described as a campaign for national renewal rooted in integrity, constitutionalism and people-centred leadership.

Although she is leaving Jubilee, Njoroge praised former President Uhuru Kenyatta for the opportunities he accorded her throughout her political career.

She described Kenyatta as a mentor and political father who entrusted her with leadership responsibilities and exposed her to governance experiences within Kenya and internationally.

Njoroge joined The National Alliance (TNA) in 2012 as Communications Manager before the party merged with the United Republican Party (URP) to form the Jubilee Party. She remained in the outfit and later rose to become Deputy Organizing Secretary.

She said the experience shaped her understanding of politics and strategic communications, describing it as one of the most defining periods of her professional life.

Even as she begins a new political chapter, Njoroge said she leaves Jubilee with gratitude, lasting friendships and respect for the party’s leadership.

She pledged to dedicate her efforts to Linda Mwananchi’s agenda, saying the movement seeks to amplify the voices of ordinary Kenyans, defend constitutionalism and human rights, and promote accountable leadership.
