During Thursday’s National Prayer Breakfast, President William Ruto chose to steer clear of political discourse, focusing instead on the imperative of unity among leaders regardless of their political leanings, stressing that it is fundamental for Kenya’s progress.
Ruto underscored the privilege held by cabinet secretaries and elected officials in serving the nation at this crucial juncture, urging them to fulfill their responsibilities diligently.
“We all understand the challenges and our duties,” Ruto remarked, urging courage in doing what is right as the sole path to propel the country forward.
Addressing the aspiration of creating more job opportunities for youth through digital economy initiatives and fostering national prosperity, Ruto urged leaders to redouble their efforts towards this goal, irrespective of political affiliations.

The National Prayer Breakfast, an annual ecumenical event facilitated by the Speakers of the National Assembly and the Senate, convened leaders from various sectors under the theme of ‘Hope’. Organized by the National Prayer Breakfast Organizing Committee, comprised of dedicated volunteers, the event serves as a platform for leaders to come together, engage, and pray for the nation’s well-being.
Originating in May 2003, shortly after President Mwai Kibaki assumed office, the National Prayer Breakfast symbolizes a tradition of unity and collective prayer for Kenya’s prosperity.
