President William Ruto on Wednesday launched the Nyota Start-up Capital disbursement programme for Nyamira, Migori, and Kisii counties.

Through the initiative, 8,820 young Kenyans received their first tranche of start-up funding, marking the start of their entrepreneurial journeys and reinforcing the government’s commitment to youth-led economic transformation.

President William Ruto said the government is firmly shifting from promises to concrete action by turning commitments into real, measurable outcomes for Kenyan youth.

He emphasized that empowering young people is no longer just a vision but a deliberate process backed by practical programmes designed to create opportunity and hope.

“We are moving decisively from words to action; translating promise into reality and giving practical expression to our commitment to the empowerment of our youth.” Ruto said.

Furthermore, he noted that the government’s strategy goes beyond simply offering financial support.

“Our approach goes beyond the provision of capital. We are creating sustainable and steady pathways to employment and entrepreneurship through targeted interventions in labour mobility, the digital and creative economy, and the Affordable Housing Programme.” Said the president.

However, the President reaffirmed that the government remains fully committed to this mission and will not slow down or give up.

He stressed that the work will continue relentlessly until every Kenyan youth is given a fair chance to unlock, develop, and realise their full potential, regardless of background or location.

“We shall neither relent nor grow weary. We will not stop until every Kenyan youth is given a fair opportunity to unlock, develop, and realise their full potential.” He said.
