Small businesses are turning to innovation to strengthen their competitiveness, as entrepreneurs and business leaders prepare to meet at the Business & Innovation Expo 2026.
The expo, organised by BNI Nairobi South, is scheduled for September 11 at The Waterfront Karen and is expected to bring together more than 1,000 entrepreneurs, SMEs, investors, innovators and business executives.
The event will provide a platform for businesses to showcase new products and services, explore digital solutions and identify opportunities for partnerships, customers and suppliers.
For SMEs, the focus on innovation comes as businesses seek new ways of improving their operations, reaching customers and expanding their markets. The expo will feature innovation showcases, expert discussions and exhibitor engagements aimed at exposing businesses to solutions that can support growth.
Among the speakers will be Tonee Ndungu, founder of Kytabu, a digital platform focused on expanding access to knowledge and opportunities. Graeme Reid, chief executive of Tilisi Developments, will also headline the programme, bringing experience from the property development and enterprise sector.
The event will bring together SMEs, corporates, investors and professionals from different industries, creating opportunities for businesses to exchange ideas and explore potential commercial partnerships.
Antony Njenga, Co-Executive Director of BNI Nairobi South, said the organisers want participants to leave with practical opportunities rather than simply making contacts.
“We want people to leave the Expo with more than a collection of business cards. We want them to leave with new ideas, new relationships, new opportunities and conversations that can translate into real business outcomes,” he said.
The expo will be held under the theme “Accelerate, Innovate, Lead,” with the organisers positioning innovation and business connections as key drivers of enterprise growth.
The day will end with a Business Networking Cocktail, bringing together business leaders, exhibitors, sponsors and other participants for further engagement.
