Two people sustained serious injuries after a matatu they were traveling in, lost control and rolled several times along Machakos – Wote road yesterday morning.
The 8.40am accident near Makuyuni market occurred when the matatu, which was heading to Wote town from Machakos, lost control while negotiating a corner.
Confirming the accident Makueni Police Station Base commander Chief Inspector James Mosiere said that two passengers identified as Mwendwa Mutisya and Leonard Makenga, suffered multiple fractures on their legs and were admitted to Makueni Level 4 Hospital.
He said 11 other passengers, sustained slight injuries and were treated and discharged. Mosiere appealed to motorists and road users to observe traffic rules .
